J C E George Builders was established in 1965 in Bury St. Edmunds by my father, John Charles Ernest George. We remain a family business to date.
We have worked on a large number of the listed buildings in Bury St. Edmunds including several churches and the cathedral. We have carried out improvement works to many local schools, and other council buildings. We are able to specialise in traditional building techniques and also carry out new works. We have recently built a six car garage and workshop, and carried out works at RAF Honnington.
We directly employ bricklayers, carpenters, joiners, plasterers, painters, paper hangers, and wall and floor tilers who have all been with us for many years from apprenticeships. We have a wide ranging network of reliable and loyal sub-contractors which included Plumbers, Electricians, Roofers etc. who work for us on a regular basis.
Our office and yard is situated in Lamdin Road, Bury St. Edmunds IP32 6NU where we have a well equipped joinery workshop to provide a bespoke service whether it be windows, doors, counters, cupboards, etc.
We are members of the Federation of Master Builders and our workforce holds up-to-date Construction Skills Certificates (CSCS ID cards) and Enhanced Criminal Record Certificates (CRB).
