Our people
We directly employ 20 tradesmen, many of whom have been with us since they first began their careers as apprentices.
Their loyalty reflects our values as a firm. We invest in our people, their skills and expertise.
We also have a large established and wide-ranging network of reliable and loyal sub-contractors, who we work with on a daily basis to support our projects and ensure we can work flexibly to meet your project needs.
Our team includes: Joiners, Bricklayers, Carpenters, Plasterers, Decorators, Wallpapers, Tillers, Roofers, Plumbers, Electricians, and Metal Fabrication Engineers.
We are members of the Federation of Master Builders, and our workforce holds up-to-date Construction Skills Certificates (CSCS ID cards) and Criminal Record Certificates (CRB).
J.C.E. George always takes its client's privacy and location of works into account at all times.
Our projects
We have carried out work on many of the listed buildings in Bury St Edmunds, including churches, the Cathedral, and many private properties.
We work with local architects, councils, and other professional bodies.
We also have carried out work to schools, council buildings, MOD bases , and commercial properties
We are able to specialise in traditional building techniques, working in highly delicate environments. Our expertise encompasses knowledge of both traditional and forgotten techniques as well as new practices of work, making us extremely versatile.
